Twins for a Princess

Denmark’s Crown Princess Mary is pregnant and expecting twins.

TheĀ 38-year-old princess, who was born and raised in Hobart, is due in January. She is expected to give birth at Rigshospitalet, the national hospital, in Copenhagen.

The announcement follows weeks of intense media speculation that the princess is pregnant.

Princess Mary married Crown Prince Frederik in 2004. They met in a pub during the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, where she worked as sales director with a real estate agency.

The couple already has two children, four-year-old Christian and three-year-old Isabella.

Christian is second-in-line to the Danish throne behind his father.

Princess Mary was named one of the top 10 best-dressed women of 2010 in the September edition of Vanity Fair.
